English-Speaking Imam

The Islamic Community Center of Illinois is seeking a qualified Imam who is fluent in English and has a strong background in Islamic Studies.

Requirements:

 • Proficient in spoken and written English

 • Degree or certification in Islamic Studies (or equivalent qualification)

 • Strong communication and leadership skills

 • Ability to deliver khutbahs, lead prayers, and engage with youth and community members

 • Previous experience serving as an Imam or community leader preferred

Responsibilities:

 • Lead daily prayers, Friday khutbahs, and special Islamic events

 • Provide religious guidance, counseling, and community support

 • Teach Islamic classes and lead educational programs

 • Participate in community outreach and interfaith activities

Motivated and organized Office Administrator.
Assistant to support our administrative operations and serve as a key point of contact within our
community.
Position will be part time, with expected hours to be 9:00 am -1:00 pm, 6 days a week. This
position will report to Zakaria Abdelhalim – Office Manager.
Compensation based on experience and qualifications.
Qualifications
Minimum of two years of college education (associate degree or higher preferred)
Experienced in bookkeeping, record management, and invoice writing
Bilingual in English and Arabic (spoken and written)
Proficient in all related administrative skills, i.e., document preparation, grammar, spelling,
formatting, proofreading, and the use of various office equipment.
Relevant experience providing administrative and/or executive support, with a demonstrated
ability to manage tasks and responsibilities effectively.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills will be key to successfully collaborating and
interacting with all levels of staff.
Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are crucial for maintaining
accuracy and efficiency.
Comfortable using technology and able to quickly learn new tools; experience with Google
Docs/Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required.
Familiarity with social media platforms preferred.
Applicants must be self-motivated, willing to learn, patient when working with multiple
stakeholders, and an individual who understands the unique responsibilities of serving in a
masjid/community center environment.
Responsibilities
• Data entry
•Assist with day-to-day office operations
• Maintain records, financial transactions, documents, files, and paperwork to maintain an
efficient and orderly administrative system.
• Prepare invoices, receipts, and administrative reports
• Support communication with community members and vendors
• Coordinate with management to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow
• Assist in managing facility space, scheduling meetings, and supporting event coordination and
logistics.
• Provide administrative and communication support to the Board and various committees.
